CRYOVAC BDF® for whole birds is a shrink overwrap packaging under modified atmosphere combining a thin, anti-fog, barrier shrink film with a variety of trays. This technology offers the store-wrapped look with the added bonuses of enhanced branding, longer shelf-life and leak proof closure.

Sigpack Systems, a Bosch Packaging Technology company, has developed an integrated packaging system for tea in Stickpacks in partnership with Bistrozucker. The system produces the perforated Stickpack as well as the secondary packaging, in a Pull Pack or in a conventional Flow Wrap style.

Pregis Corp. is launching Astro-Bubble® Green, the first-ever air-cushioning bubble to contain up to 40% recycled content, but no less than 30% (depending on post- and pre-consumer waste material supply availability).

In continuation of its range of “Ready to Pack” modules and machines, Cermex has just developed a new version of wrap around case packer for one of its customers in the food industry. Presented as an exclusive at Interpack 2008, this application is able to load cartons or flowpacked aluminium trays of frozen food either horizontally (products referred to as “lying down”) or on edge (products referred to as “upright”)… for optimal industrial flexibility and merchandising!

Rhodia Acetow, based in Freiburg, Germany, was awarded a WorldStar 2007 in November by the World Packaging Organisation for its product TOWCUBE®. This is an innovative vacuum film developed specially for packing bales of cellulose acetate, which is used in the manufacture of cigarette filters. Before receiving this accolade, TOWCUBE® had already won the German Packing Award (“Deutscher Verpackungspreis) – see www.verpackung.org – during the FachPack 2007 trade fair. This is also a cause for celebration for Kobusch-Sengewald, the packaging specialist that makes the new film exclusively for Rhodia.

At the Fachpack 2007, KHS AG, international manufacturer of filling and packaging systems for the beverage, food, and non-food sectors, will be presenting a new type of shrink tunnel that offers numerous advantages.

For tray and wrap-around packing machines, KHS now also offers a glue precisely corresponding to these applications: Innocoll HMP. KHS is thus building on its years of experience gathered with its Innocoll range of adhesives in the field of labeling technology.
