In the age of expanding global business, networking is more important than ever. This Turkish success story is a good example. In 2005, Hasan Erdogan, Managing Director of catering business Kivircik attended the Packforum Ready Meals event organized by global packaging expert Sealed Air Cryovac. Discovering the packaging technologies applied to ‘sous vide’ cooking and meeting the owners of the expanding Belgian ‘vacuum’ food producer Deliva opened new and unforeseen opportunities. This marked the beginning of a joint venture which has become today a thriving catering business under the Delivaturk brand.

Rhodia Acetow, based in Freiburg, Germany, was awarded a WorldStar 2007 in November by the World Packaging Organisation for its product TOWCUBE®. This is an innovative vacuum film developed specially for packing bales of cellulose acetate, which is used in the manufacture of cigarette filters. Before receiving this accolade, TOWCUBE® had already won the German Packing Award (“Deutscher Verpackungspreis) – see www.verpackung.org – during the FachPack 2007 trade fair. This is also a cause for celebration for Kobusch-Sengewald, the packaging specialist that makes the new film exclusively for Rhodia.

A joint project of the Optima Group Pharma and its most recent brand Klee with its freeze and vacuum dryers: This highly versatile and compact filling and packaging line is designed for powder filling and vacuum drying, however, it can be retrofitted for liquid filling and freeze drying at a later stage.

With a new KHS vacuum CIP system, cleaning of beverage tanks at medium temperatures of up to 50°C is even more efficient, faster, environmentally friendlier, and more flexible than ever.
