At Labelexpo Europe 2009 on 23 September, the Gallus Group will be heralding a new era for the cost-effective manufacture of commodity product decoration solutions with the market launch of the Gallus ECS 340. The press is based on a robust core of technical granite.

Compose System, an established developer of pre-press workflow and colour proofing solutions, will demonstrate its Star Proof true dot proofing solution during Labelexpo in hall 7, stand K58. Using 1 Bit Tiff or Len files with screens of between 25lpi to 200lpi, Star Proof produces contract quality proofs on inkjet printers – quickly and economically. Compose will also be teaming up with Epson to demonstrate Star Proof’s quality whilst driving the current range of inkjet printers.

Prayer for the Weekend is the latest album of the Swedish rock group The Ark. The first 5,000 copies of the disc will be packaged in an exclusive special cover called JakeBox. In mid-March The Ark visited the packaging printers Strand Grafiska in Malmö, Sweden, and inaugurated a newly developed packaging machine simply by pressing the start button.

The offset stations allow the use of fast-drying UV-offset inks and feature special sleeves that allow quick changeover between 24- and 25-in. repeats. The gravure cylinders let Tadbik Pak add rich whites, metallic or pearlescent inks, varnishes and matte finishes.
