Prof. C.K. Prahalad speaking from Poznan has claimed that global business rather than bureaucracy should be recognised as the main driver to climate change solutions. From the Econcern Sustainable Energy Event, running alongside the COP14 talks, Prof. C.K. Prahalad said: "global businesses are the link between millions of global consumers and thousands of suppliers all over the world. They have a huge influence over global ecosystems; not least because they have the scale, scope and infrastructure to enforce sustainable standards. We tend to forget that the most successful global institution today is global business. We cannot afford to continue to be afraid of profit motivated business driving the solutions to climate change."

For four days, Poznań changed into an international forum for presenting packaging technologies and logistic solutions. The International Packaging Technology and Logistics Exhibition TAROPAK (15-18 September) featured offers of 800 exhibitors and a record number of foreign companies in the history of the Exhibition.
