At PHARMTECH 2009 Romaco presents the fastest intermittent motion cartoner of its class, the Promatic P 91S. With a speed of up to 140 cartons per minute the plant sets new standards for the packaging industry. The servo driven cartoner combines efficiency with an ergonomic balcony design.

In the Russian capital numerous experts from the pharma & life science industry gathered at a very special event: for their East European customers the Gerresheimer Group organized the ‘Gerresheimer Pharma Day Moscow’ on September 23 and 24, 2009. In ten specialist talks the advanced program provided background knowledge about pharmaceutical primary packaging and drug delivery systems from various viewpoints. Across the field of glass and plastic the focus was on future-oriented production technologies for ampoules and vials as well as the filling of sterile syringes, specific requirements for primary packaging materials for biopharmaceutics and the application of eye drops.

PRATI is showcasing its complete line of solutions for line-end label production and flexible packaging at Labelexpo 2009 in a booth of 380 sqm. As well as showcasing nine machines, PRATI is also providing news and display specific solutions for market segments such as the pharmaceutical, beverage and luxury sectors.

At PackExpo Las Vegas 2009, Romaco will be presenting, for the first time, the Promatic P91 S intermittent motion cartoner. New technical standards are being set with its packaging speed of 140 cartons per minute. .

MTC Pharma Center specializes in the production of high quality foil packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Under good cyclical conditions, the Optima Group from Schwäbisch Hall could close the 2007 business year with a substantial growth. The consolidated sales of the company increased 15% to 170 m. Euros when compared to the previous year. The Optima Group currently has 1,180 employees, 180 staff members, and 1,000 in Germany (state: end of December 2007). The Optima Group manufactures innovative filling and packaging machines for the Pharma, Consumer and Nonwovens sectors. Combined manufacturing and packaging machines for Medicare products as well as MES software and optical checking systems complement the product range.

Increased safety – and in addition increased economy through the entire process chain: with these qualities an innovative closure system for pharmaceutical products totally convinced the jury for the 2007 German Packaging Award. This internationally prestigious prize was awarded to the new type of desiccant closures for tablet containers which Gerresheimer has developed under the Duma® trademark. It is the first company in the world to produce the multi-function plastic products completely in one connected process – together with the integrated desiccant elements. The result is regarded as a pioneering innovation: for the pharma industry it also facilitates fulfilment of the prescribed registration requirements.
