Packaging wall of excellence to become regular feature
The special exhibition about plastic packaging, the “Packaging Wall of Excellence”, attracted the visitors’ attention at BRAU Beviale 2008. On a stand area of 100 square meters the “Packaging Wall” had been arranged. The Wall’s illuminated boxes, in which the exhibits were presented, are the eye-catching elements. Modern LED technology produces shimmering and changing colours and creates a very special atmosphere.

The award ceremony of the 31st German Packaging Prize took place in Nuremberg on the afternoon of November 12th in line with the BRAU Beviale, the European beverage trade fair. The German Packaging Institute dvi awarded prizes to 22 new developments from 18 companies and 3 students in 7 categories. Prizes were awarded for functional and novel solutions which promote the packaging practice in an economical, technical, creative and ecological respect. The Oscar of the packaging industry enjoys increasing international attention. For example 13 of 16 submissions were selected for the WorldStar 2008 at the jury meeting of the World Packaging Organisation in Cape Town through the German Packaging Prize. This year, German innovations could mainly prevail among the strong international competition in the consumer area.

BRAU Beviale 2008 opens its doors in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 12-14 November. The industry’s most important international capital goods exhibition this year invites the experts and a good 1,400 exhibitors of beverage raw materials, technologies, logistics and marketing ideas with highly communicative stand crews and some 34,000 potential customers are pleased to come. Those faced with investment decisions need competent advice – and apparently feel they are in excellent hands in Nürnberg. According to a survey by an independent institute, 97 % of the visitors (!) in 2007 were not only highly satisfied with the products on display at their BRAU Beviale, but also with the information and contact opportunities on the exhibition stands.

Succesful event for HSM
From 25th to 27th of September 2007 the FachPack 2007, the trade fair for packing solutions, took place in Nuremberg. Altogether 1,326 exhibitors faced 33,975 specialized visitors, from those approximately 84% came from Germany. HSM convinced on an 50 square meter exhibition booth as well known manufacturer of baling presses and solutions for the production of packing material.

Extremely satisfied faces at the end of the exhibitions on 27 September with 33,975* visitors (2006: 33,056*) and 1,319* exhibitors (2006: 1,325*) at FachPack+PrintPack+LogIntern 2007. The Nürnberg exhibition trio radiated far beyond Germany and again proved to be one of the key packaging exhibitions in Europe. Claus Rättich, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse: “A constructive working atmosphere probably best describes the mood of the three days at the exhibitions. The economy in Germany and in many neighbouring countries is booming, the exhibition ran excellently and the whole packaging industry can look forward to some lively follow-up business.” The exhibition trio increased its space to 48,400*m2 (2006: 47,690*m2) and filled ten exhibition halls.

FachPack+PrintPack+LogIntern 2006 in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg ended on 28 September 13 per cent up with 33,056* trade visitors (2004: 29,260*). 1,325* exhibitors (2004: 1,157*, +14 %) booked the entire space available. "If exhibitions really are economic indicators, then the packaging industry in Germany and the neighbouring countries can look forward to a hot autumn,” forecasts Claus Rättich, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse. “The competence and practical relevance of the Nürnberg packaging trio was again convincing. The visitors highly appreciate the willingness of the exhibitors to work together on problem solutions during the exhibition.” The creative working atmosphere was apparently catching and attracted 15 % international visitors into the halls this time (2004: 10 %), mainly from Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Italy; the Central East European countries of Poland, Slovenia and Hungary were also strongly represented.
