Multivac has received the German Packaging Award 2008 for its new generation of thermoform packaging machines. The German Packaging Institute (DVI) presented the award in the category of machine technology. This is the second major prize that Multivac has received this year for the new generation, after having previously been honored with the renowned iF Packaging Award.

A good 1,400 exhibitors of beverage raw materials, technologies, logistics and marketing ideas present their products for the around 34,000 expected visitors at BRAU Beviale 2008 in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 12-14 November. The one-and-a-half-day seminar in the CongressCenter Ost of NürnbergMesse is devoted to trends in filling technology: What must be considered when planning and taking new installations into operation? Where is optimization possible? How can the stringent hygiene regulations be fulfilled?

Innovation for packaging paper hygiene products: The Optima Group Nonwovens exhibits a high-performance system for Femcare products with market-leading output, a variant for sanitary pads with medium output, a stacker system, as well as a converting unit for gusseted bags. The German Association for the Certification of Quality Management Systems (DQS) has certified NORDENIA DEUTSCHLAND Halle GmbH, plant Steinfeld, in accordance with the prEN 15593 standard, making it the first company worldwide to earn the certification. The new guideline sets standards that apply to hygiene management during the production of food packaging. Experts from the German Association for the Certification of Quality Management Systems (DQS) recently presented the prEN 15593 certificate to Markus Hoedebeck, the Hygiene Representative, in Steinfeld.

The Package of the Year Award 2005 in the category “Medical” was awarded to Roche Diagnostics’ Accu-Chek Multiclix® lancing system. This award also honors the accomplishment of system supplier Wilden Group. The services that went into creating this product range from product development to engineering, mold making, injection molding, assembly, product finishing and logistics.
