Bioplastics are attracting much interest at present – rightly so, according to a recent statement on bioplastics issued by IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V. (association of the German manufacturers of plastics packagings and films). Bioplastics broaden the range of raw materials, provide interesting material properties and offer new business fields. The manufacturers of bioplastics packagings are represented in an IK working group “Bioplastics” founded 10 years ago.
