Barcode reading becomes quicker
The automatic identification of products by barcodes such as EAN/GTIN and DPG deposit markings (Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH) require a continuous and verified readability of these codes, which has to be assured by the label manufacturers. In cooperation with the German Initiative Labelforum e.V. and based on the requirements of the label printers QUISS developed the optimal system solution LogoCheck to ensure the proper print quality.Up to now the measurement of labels in sheet printing required relatively extensive, time consuming and separate work steps. With the LogoCheck X/Y table it is for the first time possible to verify labels on the entire sheet: cutting-out of single labels is no longer necessary. Now, an entire sheet is placed on the table, the sensor is positioned above the corresponding barcode or DPG-marking and the result will be displayed immediately. Every measurement result is automatically documented based on an order number with respect to the position on the sheet and displayed in a complete sheet report. With a single click the system function can be switched between verifying EAN-Codes or DPG-markings.
Bernhard Gruber, managing director of QUISS comments the advantages of LogoCheck as follows: „With the LogoCheck X/Y table we now offer a user-friendly system solution to label manufacturers for fast and reliable measurements of both EAN / GTIN and DPG markings – combined in one system with automatic documentation of each measurement. The time savings allow a considerable higher test frequency reducing the risk for scrap production and possible customer complaints. This system solution enables the continuous process optimisation and quality assurance, an investment that will amortise in a very short time. “
