Label printer acquires new machine
Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix announces that high profile Turkish label printing specialist, Canpaş, has invested in the Xeikon 3000 digital printing press to help boost efficiency, increase productivity and spur company growth. The new system will improve the turnaround times of short and medium runs of labels and variable data printing, enabling the company to provide an even better service to its customers.
Istanbul-based Canpaş offers a wide range of label printing and converting solutions, such as thermal, industrial, nourishment, cosmetic, A4 lazer, continous form computer, inkjet, box, paperboard and meto-motex labels, cashregister paper rolls, thermal paper for facsimiles, POS rolls and boarding passes.
After Canpaş’ annual productivity surpassed 14 million sqm using 11 conventional label printing systems, the company turned to the Xeikon 3000 to streamline its operation. The digital color press will provide the company with unparalleled imaging quality and productivity for economical and environmentally-friendly production of short-to-medium runs and just-in-time jobs.
“With digital technology advancing rapidly, the time was right to invest in a digital solution that could deliver the quality and flexibility that our customers expect,” says Aydin Okay, President of Canpaş, Chairman of Turkish label printing association EDS and member of the FINAT Board. “The Xeikon 3000 ticks all the right boxes. It is the ideal system in terms of print quality, variable data handling and enhanced turnaround times. We’ve no doubt that our investment will enable us to offer even better quality services and attract new business.”
The dry toner electro-photographic imaging process of the Xeikon 3000 enables the use of the same substrates as those used by other technologies without further treatment, and the system doesn’t emit VOCs or other hazardous substances. The press also features full rotary printing technology, enabling printing at rated engine speeds for maximum productivity. Plus the Xeikon 3000 will enhance Canpaş’ green credentials, as the system’s output is recyclable.
Furthermore, the Xeikon 3000 offers true 1200dpi at four bits per spot. It includes five color stations – four for the standard process colors and the fifth color station for white or spot colors. The spot colors can be used for gamut expansion or for producing specific brand colors. The fifth color station can also be used for printing on transparent films using Xeikon’s one-pass opaque white toner, and for security printing using Xeikon’s special security toner. Operating on the Xeikon Form Adapted (FA) toner, the Xeikon 3000 is FDA-approved for use in certain food contact applications.
Christos Anastasiou, Managing Director at Punch Graphix SE Europe, comments on the deal: “Canpaş has an excellent reputation in Europe, and Mr Okay is highly respected in the international label community, so it’s a great endorsement for the Xeikon 3000 that the company chose to invest in the system. In conjunction with Ertan IPEK/SIGMA – which was instrumental in making the deal happen – we look forward to building a successful working relationship with Canpaş.”
