Romanian pharmaceutical market falls dramatically

The Romanian pharmaceutical market decreased by 8.8% in the second quarter, as compared to April-June 2008,
to 450 million euros, against the backdrop of a 15.6% decline of the hospitals segment and 7.8% of the retail,
an evolution mainly generated by the reduction in prescription drugs prices, according to Cegedim. Thus,
retail sales amounted to 395.9 million euros and the hospital ones at 54 million euros.
