Choose glass week this month

Dominique Tombeur, President of the European Container Glass Federation will share with you some key assets of glass as packaging material for food and drink and will give an overview of the Industry in Europe.

Trends of the Belgian market will be presented by the Mr Liher Irizar, Director of the glasswork MdV Vidrala Belgium.

Dennis Claus - from InSites - will then share with you the surprising results of a European wide survey on consumers’ attitudes towards glass packaging.

Two Belgian “Friends of Glass” - Jill Peeters (TV presenter and meteorologist – winner of the C3 Climate Change Communication Award 2009) and Bernard Tirtiaux (writer and glass sculptor) will explain why they decided to support this initiative.

The harp player Maria Palatine will bring glass to life by playing on a glass “carillon”.

The event will give you also the opportunity to visit the first ever “Friends of Glass” shop displaying a huge variety of products packaged in glass.

In US “Recycle Glass Week” kicks off with three chances to meet “Little Bottle” - the event’s mascot - in New York, while glass manufacturers are holding over 50 events to promote recycling awareness in 22 states.
