Sealed Air Corporation announced today that it is extending the Ethafoam® polyethylene foam portfolio to include a high recycled content product.

The new Ethafoam® High Recycled Content plank product is manufactured with a minimum of
65% pre-consumer recycled content.
Ethafoam® High Recycled Content product is a closed cell polyethylene foam made from 65%
recycled content. It is made of a thick, single-layer extruded foam plank and is used for its
excellent dynamic cushioning performance in packaging applications, including in end-caps,
corner pads and load separators, and blocking and bracing of valuable or delicate products.
Although Sealed Air has been producing some PE foam with varied recycled content for years,
Ethafoam® HRC foam specifically meets the needs of those customers that see value in a
sustainable product with high recycled content. “By dialing into a high specific recycled content
amount in our Ethafoam® HRC foam, we are able to provide a consistent product with
dependable performance characteristics that are ideal for the packaging industry” states James M.
Garcia, Global Director of Marketing for Sealed Air’s Specialty Materials business unit.
The use of recycled content in Ethafoam® HRC foam benefits the environment by reducing the
amount of material that enters the waste stream. In addition, studies have shown that products
manufactured with recycled plastic materials have a lower carbon footprint than product made
entirely from virgin materials.
Ethafoam® HRC foam is available in the same dimensional tolerances as the standard Ethafoam®
180 plank offering.
Sealed Air is committed to the environment and partnering with fabricators to continue to build
and grow sustainable programs and services to reduce, reuse and recycle.
