Awards for Alcan Packaging
Alcan Packaging Food Europe has been awarded the prestigious Alufoil Trophy for two of their most recent inspired packaging solutions.The innovative products are; a perforated stickpack, used for Bistrozucker’s Energy Pod, which provides controlled carbonation – consumers simply dip the stickpack into a glass of water and stir to create a 250ml drink. Featuring Alcan Packaging Singen’s springback foil development, the pack regains its shape after filling. The concept extends the market for Tpods from the more traditional tea and coffee, offering novel ideas to soft drinks manufacturers.
Alcan Packaging was also involved with the second winning product, working together with the IMPRESS Centre de Recherche de Crosmieres. The unique packaging solution is the first commercial application to withstand the continuous retort process. The product is used by Bonduelle for canned vegetables, such as sweetcorn. A combination of the Alufix ® continuous retort application and the Impress Easip ® peelable easy open can ends result in this inspired and innovative pack.
