Record sales for Constantia Packaging
For the first time Constantia Packaging, one of the leading Austrian industrial groups increased its consolidated sales to more than EUR2 billion.The strategic orientation - in developing the Group through the acquisition of AMAG in the
fourth quarter 2007, the take-over of the remaining 40% shares of Constantia Duropack,
the participation in the Croatian Belisce d.d., but also selective divestments of non- core
businesses – as well as the results, reflect the positive business development.
„It is very pleasing that despite an increasingly difficult market environment we recorded
new all- time sales and earnings highs in 2008“, explains Dr. Hanno M. Bästlein, Chief
Executive Officer of Constantia Packaging AG.
Sales in 2008 increased by 33% to €2,080.8 million, 8,241 employees at 49 production
sites achieved a solid EBITDA margin of almost 14%.
