Haver & Boecker holds technology days
With its Technology Days, Haver & Boecker, the German specialist for packing machinery, has succeeded in launching a new information concept. During the week of October 13 – 17, both a customer conference and a sales rep session took place simultaneously at Haver headquarters in Oelde, Germany.
The Haver Technology Days conference was split up according to the different business units, and took place concurrently. There was a customer conference day for the divisions of Chemicals, Building Materials & Minerals and for Cement. In addition, during the course of two days, approx 100 representatives from 55 different countries attended and informed themselves firsthand on the latest technological developments and organisational changes at Haver & Boecker. Because the last sales rep conference had taken place 6 years before in 2002, there was a great built-up demand for information.
The customer conference was characterised by a programme that included a wide range of activities. There were specialised presentations where new products, market trends and goals for the future were shown. These presentations were supplemented by user reports from customers and by projections from market experts on the future trends and developments of various markets.
After the theoretical parts in the morning, the afternoon events moved to the workshop for viewing exhibited equipment in order to get a firsthand, up-close look at the current state of technology. The displayed equipment effectively provided a cross-section of the Haver
Machinery Division’s product range. The star and highlight of the exhibition was the newly developed HAVER ROTO CLASSICÒ, which was officially unveiled and presented during the Cement Conference Day. Clearly from the expressions of delight on the faces of its developers – and especially from the General Manager Cement Division Bernhard Pagenkemper – it was a pleasure for them to present their new “baby”. Fresh from delivery, this ROTO-newcomer includes all the best features plant operators can wish for. The ROTO CLASSICÒ is energy efficient, maintenance-friendly, operator-friendly and capable of high speeds. It boasts a 10% increase in packing speed, depending on the product characteristics and cement type.
The five conference days were concluded by an open-house for the local residents. 4000 visitors took the opportunity to take a look behind the plant gates of the Haver Machinery Division, and were clearly impressed by the orderliness and cleanliness of this middle-size, family-owned company’s plant and facilities.
The next HAVER Technology Days is slated for the end of August 2012, just when the 125-year jubilee of Haver & Boecker is to be celebrated.
