Pots being used for family branding

New ranges of fresh stocks and gravies launched by leading retailer Waitrose – including a seasonal range of Christmas sauces – are using the Thor Pot to ensure exceptional functionality and family branding across all products.

The ranges – manufactured for Waitrose by Joubere – are set to provide consumers with a variety of premium flavours that only need to be heated before use. Waitrose wanted a packaging format that offered recloseability and microwaveability, but was keen to ensure that the containers also delivered an attractive appearance for optimum on-shelf presence.

RPC Blackburn’s Thor Pot was considered the ideal choice because its proven functional benefits – which include a tamper evident seal – are matched by strong aesthetics. Excellent contact clarity allows consumers to see the product contents, and the large decoration area enables prominent labelling, with Waitrose using co-ordinated graphics to ensure commonality of branding across the ranges.

A 550ml size Thor Pot, injection moulded in PP, has been specified for the gravies and stocks.

“These launches confirm Waitrose’s commitment to premium fresh products, and it was vital that the packaging reflected this, comments MJ Streather at Joubere.  The Thor Pot from RPC Blackburn meets our requirement for sophisticated, convenient packaging perfectly.
