OYSTAR A+F is a member of OYSTAR, a group of companies specializing in packaging technologies. Its Twinline twin axis robot for the Twinline pick-and-place machine is an innovative addition to its product portfolio. Standard robot technology often cannot provide the flexibility required for modern end-of-line packaging systems. Typically, robots are only capable of handling either heavy loads at low cycle rates or very limited loads at high cycle rates.

The mechanical solution designed by OYSTAR A+F involves two identical drive arms made of lightweight carbon fiber material and two servo drives for the gripper. The unit reduces pick-and-place motion times to less than 0.5 seconds and cycle times to less than two seconds, and has a maximum hourly output of 20,000 cups in two different formats.

Using mechanical or suction grippers to pick, stack or push items, the Twinline can place virtually any product in any position, allowing flexible cycle times. It can handle maximum loads of 63 kg. The Twinline can be tailored to a wide range of customer specifications and can be used for tasks such as the collation of primary products, sortation of cups and beverage bottles, and picking and placing. It is equipped with an ELAU or Siemens SIMOTION control system and has a special user interface that enables it to be adapted almost automatically to on-site conditions.
