Award for bottle suspension pack
Following on from this success, Rosewood’s own marketing research indicates that the product will appeal to the drinks industry. With a unit price from as little as 89 pence (subject to a minimum order level), Rosewood’s innovative bottle suspension pack is more cost effective than most traditional moulded polystyrene, paper pad and pulp-based alternatives.
Rosewood’s product is produced entirely from corrugated board. ‘Z’ folded inserts provide lateral shock absorbance and suspend a bottled product within an outer carton. Repetitive drop testing by Starpack judges confirmed the packaging as high performing, thereby assuring its effectiveness in safeguarding contents from damage or breakage. Furthermore, Rosewood can provide high quality print finishes that complement and extend on-pack branding.
The company’s Cumbernauld site, which trades as Rosewood Packaging (Scotland), already has a number of drinks manufacturers on its client portfolio. Business development staff at the centre are, therefore, well positioned to draw from their experience of the sector, and to target Scottish whisky manufacturers, brewers, wine companies and bottling plants with the innovative new pack.
Lorna Murray, Divisional Operations Director at Cumbernauld, said, “Our bottle suspension pack demonstrates Rosewood’s design expertise and ability to think ‘outside the box’ for packaging design and redesign projects. Our new product is a typical example of how we excel in producing effective, high quality packaging solutions for manufacturers and exporters. We are in the process of selecting a number of our bespoke products for wider availability and the bottle suspension pack could have the potential to become an industry recognised packaging option, for the drinks sector.”
