Superfos terminal up and running
Superfos’ new distribution centre in Hamburg, Germany is now up and running to its full potential and in June 2008 it will be followed by an even bigger one in Lommel, Belgium with the capacity of 90,000 pallets a year. The new distribution centre will cover the whole range of Superfos packaging solutions and provide better service to customers in Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany and the northern part of France. Next step in the roll out of our distribution strategy will be to establish a new distribution centre in Jønkøping, Sweden.“Our distribution centres enable us to keep track on our logistics. We can optimise our container transport and avoid half empty trucks, thereby securing a much more sustainable transport with reductions in our carbon emissions as a result,” says Executive Vice President Supply Chain & Operations Soeren Lisbjerg from Superfos.
Closer to our customers
Besides distribution centres, Superfos has a number of customised warehouses that provide the same benefits to both customers and the environment. This customised solution is chosen for selected big customers with well defined requirements.
“It is very important for us to meet our customers’ needs of fast delivery service. As both distribution centres and customised warehouses bring us closer to our markets, we are able to react faster on customer needs and the solutions gives us further flexibility in the service we provide. Therefore, we are happy to say that our distribution strategy over time will be implemented across Europe to the benefit of all our customers,” Soeren Lisbjerg ends.
