Pails for chips
The excellent working relationship between RPC Containers Oakham and its customer glennans Ltd has been confirmed by the use of RPC pails for the relaunch and range expansion of the popular glennans™ brand of pan-fried vegetable crisps.
Originally known as Better Tasting Snack Foods, the company rebranded as glennans in 2006 to highlight both the family-owned nature of the business and the impact of glennans™ crisps on the market since their launch in 2004.
The range is primarily aimed at the foodservice trade, where it makes an ideal bar top snack and much more. glennans™ has been using RPC Oakham’s 5 L injection moulded Euroflex container to provide the large packaging format needed for foodservice outlets. Key factors in the choice of RPC were the pail’s resealable lid for maintaining product freshness, and the site’s expertise in in-mould labelling, enabling glennans to emphasise the brand’s premium nature through enhanced pack appearance.
glennans™ crisps are becoming increasingly popular worldwide – Dubai is one of the more unusual markets where the brand has found recognition. The recent expansion of the range included two new flavours, black pepper parsnip and the more exotic sweet potato & plantain. At the same time, the company has redesigned the labels to portray a more modern glennans™ brand image, and RPC Oakham’s involvement remains integral to its foodservice business.
