Award for advancing flexography
Mr. Mehta and his team have been leaders in the advancement of digital flexo prepress technology for over 15 years. They identified a need in the market and worked closely with the industry to design tools to improve the quality and consistency of flexo. Often in close alliance with DuPont, they were a key contributor to the conversion of flexo from analog to digital in North America and around the world.
Mr. Mehta started PCC (Professional Computer Corporation) in Bristol, Pennsylvania, in the early 1990’s and focused on combining electronic/digital offerings for Flexo customers. PCC was one of the first companies to recognize the unique prepress needs of flexo, and working closely with the DuPont™ Cyrel® flexo plate team in the U.S., designed desktop applications specifically to support flexo and packaging.
In 1994 PCC acquired the former Crosfield-DuPont software team in the U.K. which has evolved into the Nexus team. Soon thereafter PCC developed the Cyrel® Digital Proofer software and color management program for the DuPont Digital WaterProof system in the U.S., the first digital proofing solution specifically designed for flexographers.
Mr. Mehta’s efforts were first recognized in 1995 with the FTA New Technology Award for digital workflow contributions. In 1998 Dennis sold PCC to Artwork Systems, which was acquired in 2007 by Esko and merged into the newly formed company of EskoArtwork.
