Lumson recognised for eco sustainability

Lumson, a manufacturer of cosmetic packaging, was formally recognized for its' eco-sustainable philosophy by obtaining an Ecocert certification.


Ecocert is a Certification  Authority operating in Europe, which evaluates companies, their products and production systems through a comprehensive deep analysis of an organization’s environmental impact. 

 

Lumson’s policies resource conservation and continuous improvement in environmental performance, were found to be consistant with the stringent standards of Ecocert so as to obtain the eco-labelling certification on two lines of packaging:  “Collection Slim” and the “Victoria Collection.”

 

The Ecocert certification is a guarantee of alignment and compliance with several recognized regulations that protect the environment. Lumson’s continuous improvement of facilities, optimization of production cycles, use of BAT technologies, systematically reduces its environmental impact, and has decreased, the global emission of CO2 and VOC gases harmful to the delicate natural balance and cause of global warming.

 

In addition, Lumson constantly seeks to deploy technology with low environmental impact.  Some examples include production and decoration, where possible, the company uses materials from renewable sources, free of hazardous substances.   In painting Lumson uses water based coatings with, low residual VOCs. 

 

In product development, Lumson supports the use of new materials and supports research on bioplastics.

 

Some of the fruits of this commitment are easily visible.  For instance, research by Lumson, resulted in a new material patented by Lumson called “3D” wich contains PA, a plastic material obtained from castor plants and therefore from a bio-renewable source, with a very low impact on the environment.

The new material “3D” was put into the market almost immediately with the firm’s Victoria and Alexandra lines and was met with strong demand among consumers eager for products that help them reduce their environmental impact.

Lumson will continue its tradition of creating high-end packaging for cosmetic companies marketing luxury brands, but has and will continue to do so in an environmentally responsible manner.
