Russian cartonboard plant sold
Ilim Holding S.A. (the owner of Ilim Group) and Knauf have signed an agreement concerning the purchase of 56% of Saint-Petersburg Cartonboard and Printing Mill (KPK) shares owned by Ilim Holding S.A. by the Russian division of Knauf Company.
Once the agreement is implemented, Knauf will become the owner of approximately 91% of shares of KPK, a waste paper box board mill located in Kommunar, Leningrad Region.
KPK’s product lines include gypsum board liner, which is a key component in manufacture of Knauf’ wallboard production, therefore Knauf is committed to KPK’s continued development.
Selling KPK, Ilim Group will concentrate more intensely on growing its major market pulp, industrial packaging and white paper businesses.
