INDEX in Geneva, the world’s leading nonwovens exhibition, is traditionally the first of two two global-scale trade shows of central importance to Optima.

Optima’s “Rainbows” were the crowd pleasers: Not only the machines – one of the few physically present at the fairground – but also the after-five get-together with a Caribbean band organized by Optima. Visitors were impressed by the machines’ performance and design.

The three exhibition booths of Optima Group Nonwovens enjoyed a large audience, confirmed by the significantly higher number of contacts than three years ago. Some of the discussions even resulted in the conclusion of contracts for new Optima and Amotek machines.

As is generally known, competitors always have a keen interest in the latest technology advances. Therefore, an electrical screen was utilized to protect the Optima Rainbow machine from unwanted interests:  Not just a gimmick, but a necessity well understood in the industry.

Considering that  Optima’s other exhibits also attracted intense interest, the international booth staff with colleagues from the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Korea, Japan, France, Italy,  Turkey and Germany was quite busy – just the thing you wish to see at a trade show.

Shortly thereafter, the Interpack Exhibition began. The three company divisions, Optima Group Pharma, Optima Group Consumer and Optima Group Nonwovens, presented themselves on 1000 m2. The gaming concept of the booth invited visitors to play “pairs” and prove themselves against an optical monitoring system from our premium partner, Seidenader Automation. The game demands from players to recognize cards with Optima-packaged products and find the pairs.

With the machines positioned in the outer zone, the booth, an intentionally open structure, attracted many visitors. In detailed discussions, the guests received information, but were also treated to snacks and beverages in a relaxed atmosphere. During the six days of Interpack, the booth staff counted more than 1,500 contacts, a figure also reflecting the impressive level of discussions and meetings.

The source of the hype were Optima’s machine novelties: The launch of the weighing filler coincided perfectly with the opening of Interpack. Currently, the gravimetric system is without competition with regard to performance and weighing precision. The second generation of the SoftCan-Makers offers even more output and outstanding process safety. The production of foil cans according to the Cyclero method and their filling with Haribo products is an attraction in itself. Other consumer machines, for example packaging machines for portioned coffee packs, cosmetics, liquids, soda lime, but also the cartoning machine, received many favorable remarks. The audience was also impressed by Optima’s Rainbow and pharmaceutical lines.

When the show is over the work begins:

Presently, we generate and systematically evaluate feedback in the form of a questionnaire campaign which allows Optima to offer our customers and potential customers an improved booth concept in the future. Findings will be integrated into the designs of future exhibitions.
