UPM showcasing innovations
UPM, one of the world’s leading forest industry groups and the leading producer of printing papers, is showcasing its newest innovations at drupa 2008, running from 29 May to 11 June in Düsseldorf.
With the main message UPM Papers –Naturally, UPM presents its wide range of papers for all printing methods and various end-uses at the exhibition. UPM is a global company with a local service network. The company takes care of its papers’ sustainable lifecycle in terms of using sustainable fibre, taking care of low emissions, low carbon footprint and using recycled fibre.
At drupa 2008 UPM will kick-off a new campaign for its flagship product, the UPM Finesse range of woodfree coated papers. The campaign will highlight the paper’s pleasant whiteness to reproduce images in the most “true-to-life” manner.
During the fair UPM is launching some new innovations, e.g. a new UPM Printing Simulator for training use and a new iRoll portable solution for optimised printing press performance. Also a new Paper Sommelier for paper specifiers, e.g. editors, advertisers and advertising agencies, is presented.
Do not forget to visit our stand, where you can learn a lot by stepping into the “Virtual Forest” created by a modern and interactive digital presentation technology.
Many innovative materials are used at UPM’s stand e.g. UPM ProFi Deck decking boards, made of wood-plastic composite. It is a new valuable material, which is a surplus of UPM’s label paper production. This is a truly environmentally friendly product, made from recycled material. You will also see the new UPM WISA-Image, a special plywood for large format (XXL) digital printing that works also with silk screen printing.
Besides its stand, UPM is actively involved in the PrintCity “Connection of Competence” concept. UPM has been active in various PrintCity activity group projects, which are now presented in Competence Centres at drupa.
The Competence Centres include e.g. Value Added UV Printing, Value Added Web Offset, Digital Trans-Promotion and Print Meets Electronic Media. In the projects the competences of various companies are combined to create innovative solutions for the print media. UPM brings in the various possibilities of paper to the projects. The Competence Centres are all located in Hall 6, manned by PrintCity Alliance member specialists. UPM Ella Store Labels, RFID and UPM Presence smart floor will be present in the Print Meets Electronic Media Competence Centre.
