In continuation of its range of “Ready to Pack” modules and machines, Cermex has just developed a new version of wrap around case packer for one of its customers in the food industry. Presented as an exclusive at Interpack 2008, this application is able to load cartons or flowpacked aluminium trays of frozen food either horizontally (products referred to as “lying down”) or on edge (products referred to as “upright”)… for optimal industrial flexibility and merchandising!

The originality of the solution developed lies in the use of the robot tooling to collate the product batch prior to loading. Rather than utilizing the robot in accordance with the infeed speed of the products to be loaded, collating the products in this way divides the robot cycle speed and optimises its reliability over time.

Moreover, this solution retains Cermex’s expertise in manipulating and forming cardboard blanks as a leader in its field, proving that innovation and traditional know-how go hand in hand in this business.
