Rapak has scored an industry first by becoming an authorised 3-A Symbol holder. The company is the only supplier of bag-in-box filling systems to have received this internationally recognised hygiene accreditation from 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc (3-A SSI).

All Rapak’s filling machines – Autokap™ for non aseptic filling, Sterikap™ for low and high acid liquids and extended shelf life filling, and Intasept® for low and high acid filling of liquid food and beverages - now have 3A accreditation.

3-A SSI is a non-profit association which represents equipment manufacturers, processors, regulatory sanitarians and other public health professionals. It is committed to the advancement of hygienic equipment design to meet the fast-changing needs of the dairy, food and beverage industries.

3-A Sanitary Standards and Accepted Practices are recognised across the world and the 3-A Symbol is a respected and reliable means for specifiers, users and inspection authorities to help assure that equipment conforms to the highest hygiene standards.

“This is a fantastic achievement by everyone involved”, comments Stuart McPherson, Segment Director for DS Smith Plastics - Liquid Packaging and Dispensing,   “It is particularly impressive as 3-A SSI recently increased its criteria level, making certification even more difficult to attain.”
