A quality and technology leader – from raw material to the printed woven sacks and back to recycled pellets – and the world’s only provider of A-Z turnkey solutions, Starlinger presents new and innovative high quality products and packaging technology at interpack 2008 in Düsseldorf.

As the international trend goes, throwaway shopping bags are on their way out – due to
environmental protection reasons, but also because of the rising prices for raw material.
In the wholesale and retail sectors, consumer bags made of PE film are being increasingly
replaced by higher-quality reusable woven shopping bags designed to advertise the seller’s
corporate image.
The advantages are obvious:
Shopping bags from PP fabric are cost-efficient and very popular for their high strength.
For consumer bag production, a photo-quality printed PP film is laminated onto the fabric.
Thus, this innovative form of packaging meets all market requirements: the product
presentation possibilities satisfy the highest demands, the breakage rate is minimised and
the weight carrying capacity still unsurpassed.
The price per sack is either lower or within the price range of existing solutions.
The packing of dry bulk goods such as rice, cereals and pet food in quantities of about 10 kg
is more secure, economical and inexpensive in the new sacks than in conventional multilayer
paper sacks; in addition, the PP woven sacks are completely recyclable.
Provided with a block bottom, gussets and ergonomic handles, a new generation of
shopping bags is emerging: Rather than just being throwaway items, they are becoming
popular consumer goods which the end customer can use again and again.
The promotional effect is multiplied and the possible fields of application are almost
unlimited.
