Panther at Innovation Parc
The InnovationParc Packaging in Hall 7a of interpack 2008 (24-30 April 2008) will supplement the information offered to visitors with various centres of excellence which take up current and future market themes. The Panther Group will be part of the knowledge centre entitled “Point of Sale”, where it will be presenting not only new types of displays, but also its “Transpanther” development, which has won numerous prestigious prizes.Under the title “Sensual Sensations”, the company will summarize a range of innovative display variations for secondary placement systems which are designed to impact on all the senses. A multi-component theme concept will present possibilities for the perception of brands and products in display presentations not only to visual effect but also, for example, in terms of taste or smell.
Panther Packaging will demonstrate examples of the use of interactive elements which motivate the consumer into taking a closer look at P.O.S. products. Displays stocked with goods and featuring dispenser systems can also be fitted out in this way. And with the aid of such devices, the consumer can enjoy tastings directly within a retail outlet.
The supplementation of a display with product-relevant fragrances is another design option for lend-ing greater attraction to the P.O.S. and establishing a more differentiated product presence. Dis-plays can be even further enhanced with the incorporation of moving pictures: the integration of TV or computer technology into secondary-placement elements is a trend with a future which will also be presented by Panther Packaging in the InnovationParc.
The use of RFID technology was the background for the development of “TransPanther”, a packag-ing system in which RFID chips are built directly into corrugated board, producing sheets with one or more built-in transponders (depending on the design and size of the packaging). The corrugated-board panels are subsequently printed, die-cut, folded and glued at Panther Packaging – to finished packaging with integrated information carriers which are always located beneath a closed surface. The transponders are not visible and are therefore protected against manipulation and theft, while having no visual impact on packaging design.
The placement of the RFID tags is possible absolutely anywhere within the packaging, and they cannot be removed without destroying the packaging. At the same time, these transponders are safe against external influences such as dirt. Furthermore, packaging is identifiable with the pack-aged goods at all times and mix-ups caused by wrong labelling are excluded. All of these details help in achieving the prime objectives of both the retail trade and manufacturers of consumer goods: optimization of warehouse stocks, more efficient business processes and reduction of error rates. A quantifiable gain in time can be achieved throughout the whole process chain, while a higher degree of automation is possible and business processes become more transparent.
