On the one hand packages for drugs should be child-resistant and on the other hand they should be easy to open for adults.

The certified Faubel-Protect CRSF Label is a convincing outcome of our product development. The child-resistant and senior friendly blister packages combine the request for more space for information with the additional protection against inappropriate handling.

The Faubel Compact Label also offers the possibility to integrate information permanently on the blister. The information can thereby not only be printed as black text but also as Braille Code. This benefit complies with a legal requirement within the European Union. The Faubel-Protect CRSF Label is reviewed and certified (F3) for the EU and for the USA.

For the “Interpack”, Faubel will present a new solution. A logic component has to be resolved to achieve the protection for children.

To face up to this market at the right time, Faubel has already started to develop solutions based on labels for child-resistant and senior-friendly packages in 2007.
The Faubel-Protect CRSF label is designed for the use on blisters and can be featured as multilayer label or as booklet label. The highlight is the fact that children cannot identify the opening mechanism straight away. An additional layer of material also makes it difficult to press out the pills.

Child-resistant and senior friendly packages will have an increase in demand in the upcoming years.
The USA already regulates the utilization of these kind of packages with specific products by law.
The same regulation by law in the European Union is surely only a matter of time.
