Packing fresh at Berlin
tna, a leading supplier of turn-key, integrated packaging and processing solutions for food production companies worldwide, displays a robag® 3 320 rotary single jaw, stainless steel vertical form, fill and seal (VFFS) machine, designed for packaging fresh produce, at the Messe Berlin.
Designed to offer efficient and gentle produce packaging from bulk packaging to single-serving to bagged kits, the robag® 3 320 is capable of bagging at speeds of 50 bpm with a reject level below 3 percent.
The non-stop rotary action of the robag® 3’s rotary jaws compresses packaging film in a continuous motion using constant, unvarying pressure to form a consistent, bonded seal. The resulting high quality seal dramatically reduces reject levels and boosts sustained freshness maximizing output and increasing product shelf life.
tna’s robag® 3 film spindle is actively driven by the unconventional film spindle(s) drive which provides power-unwind for the film. The dancing arm roller assembly both stores and keeps film tension constant. Film is drawn off the film spindle and fed through the dancing arm roller assembly providing constant film tension which is controlled by the film spindles and the positional servos in the dancing roller assembly.
robag® 3’s auto connect tool free former for automatic gas flushing delivers nitrogen to the former when it’s placed on its locating pins, allowing the nitrogen to flow when it’s required, eliminating manual nitrogen connection and reducing downtime due to changeovers. -more-
TNA ROBAG® 3 AT FRUIT LOGISTICA/ADD ONE
A new ergonomically designed unload assist former swings out from running position to an 90 degree angle allowing the operator to place both hands on the former and lift directly without leaning. The machine’s overall design benefits from fewer moving parts which results in total controllability, easy cleaning, and lowered maintenance and service.
For produce prone to cluster, tna can provide optional “shaker” software that literally shakes the product at exactly timed intervals dramatically improving throughput of products with special textures.
