Bradman Lake pulls out of Germany
Bradman Lake, the Anglo-American packaging technologies group, has announced that it has discontinued business from its former German subsidiary, Bradman Lake Gmbh, following a strategic review by the group’s new parent, Langley Holdings PLC. The company is to service its European mainland business directly from the UK and is maintaining its office in Moscow, formerly managed from the German subsidiary.Bradman Lake acquired the German company in 2003 but the business, which employed around 50 of Bradman Lake’s 350 strong workforce, has been dogged with technical difficulties and loss making since it was acquired.
A spokesman for the Bradman Lake group said:
“The GmbH business has been problematic from day one and has failed to deliver, both technically and financially. Our new parent company wasted no time in recognizing that and moved swiftly to do what really ought to have been done by our former management sooner.”
