Convenient liver sausage

Liver sausage is not excepted from the trend towards convenience. More and more manufacturers of spreadable sausage now offer their products in handy containers with easy-peel lids, thus ensuring that the product can be spread without the consumer dirtying his or her fingers, and that the packaging retains its attractive appearance throughout its useful life. Packaging film specialist Kobusch-Sengewald has responded to this development and designed its special FlexoLid HB film.

The flexible lidding film is suitable for pasteurisation; it also has excellent oxygen barrier properties to ensure a longer shelf-life for the sausage spread. The film’s elasticity allows it to adapt to the pressure variations that occur during pasteurisation much better than conventional pre-cut aluminium lids: the film ‘gives’ when the pressure increases, thus reducing mechanical stress on the sealed seam. When the pressure falls again, the film retightens over the container (“drum effect“). FlexoLid HB is peelable when used on PP trays, is highly suitable for printing and available in white, transparent and with anti-fog.

Kobusch-Sengewald is an internationally active manufacturer and fabricator of flexible packaging films, as well as a provider of special packaging solutions for food, chemical, technical and hygiene products, as well as medical products. A total of more than 500 employees work at both the Warburg and Halle/Westfalen site. Kobusch-Sengewald earned a turnover of around 126 million Euro in 2006.
