An interactive online catalogue has now been released by Gerresheimer for the first time for pharmaceutical primary packaging and drug-delivery systems. The new type of database brings the particular convenience of this medium to product research: clearly structured with an easy-to-follow layout, it offers visitors not only the complete basic ranges of glass injection systems and moulded-glass and plastic packaging but also guides them faster than ever to their desired information target – a cleverly thought-out selection and display concept makes this possible.

“We did not want just to reproduce a printed catalogue but deliberately to exploit the advantages of the interactive medium,” says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerresheimer Group, commenting on the innovation created under his direction on www.gerresheimer.com.

As a global partner for the pharma and life-science industry Gerresheimer has a uniquely broad range of specific packaging and application solutions based on glass and plastic. The online catalogue comprises around 1,500 standardised type, shape and size variants – from syringe systems and cartridges to bottles and jars of very kind and from tablet containers to dropper and spray systems. The catalogue is much more than just a digitalised compilation and from the start shows with perfect clarity what is contained in the various product categories: previews guide visitors logically through the virtual display cases – what interests them can be displayed and cancelled immediately without even a mouse click in order to reach the desired information target directly.

As soon as the mouse pointer passes over the product-group list, product portfolios appear in alternation. A click on the desired group opens a window in which all available product formats are listed together with cross-section drawings and additional information. The fact that the table also functions according to the immediate-display principle is particularly helpful: for each of the product variants touched by the mouse pointer the technical data are immediately displayed – a highly informative and time-saving procedure. A click on a specific variant will then produce a photo, drawing and data as a single page which be printed out or downloaded as a PDF file. For direct queries an info button is also available here: this leads to a preformatted user-friendly e-mail form.

The online catalogue can be reached on the Gerresheimer home page through the main portal ‘Products and Services’. In parallel with the catalogue a convenient product search machine can be used here. Whether visitors wish to look at an individual packaging solution or for example view all the conceivable possibilities for a particular filling volume, the system filters out the desired catalogue contents and delivers them to the monitor as a table, again with lightning-fast preview information.

Gerresheimer will extend its virtual facilities even further in the near future. The multi-facetted range of ampoules and vials made of tubular glass will then be added to the online catalogue which – unlike most of the compilations in the worldwide web – really deserves its name.
