Major export order for Sidel

 Zhuhai Zhongfu Enterprises Co. Ltd., based in Guangdong province (in southern China), is a Chinese food and beverage packaging pioneer.  As a vendor to beverage giants like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, Zhuhai Zhongfu has been a leading catalyst for growth in the PET bottle sector.

Today, Zhuhai Zhongfu produces 12 billion PET bottles annually not only for sodas but also for water, tea, beer and fruit juices.  The company has also diversified, and its operations now include the production of preforms, labels, caps, cup containers, cartons and plastic cases.

“Sidel is one of our most valuable partners. We ordered our first Sidel blow molding machine about 20 years ago and we have never looked back,” said Mr. Huang Le Fu, chairman of Zhuhai Zhongfu Enterprises Co., Ltd.  “China’s beverage industry has been developing rapidly, and it is critical that Sidel shares in our commitment in growing this important market. Sidel’s strong local service support and product expertise is something we know we can always count on.”

Zhuhai Zhongfu ordered its one hundredth Sidel blow molding machine at the recent K trade show, the world’s premier plastics event.  

The machine, an SBO 24xs, made its worldwide début at the show.  The SBO Highspeed 24xs is designed for packages smaller than 0.7 liters. This particular machine will be producing 0.6 liter bottles for carbonated drinks at a rate of 43,200 bottles per hour.  It’s a speed to match one of the most vibrant markets in the world, China’s beverage sector, where consumption is rising by about seven percent annually.

Zhuhai Zhongfu continues to break new ground as the first Asian customer to purchase this particular equipment model.
