A first-ever new design concept from Maybelline and an industrial performance achieved by Rexam calling on its global range of skills and know-how. Introducing the “Dream Matte Powder” compact.1) A totally new design:
The Dream Matte Powder case is first and foremost a revolution in the design of pressed powder compacts, a design innovation signed by Maybelline and achieved by Rexam with a case that opens both on the side and vertically, making it even more convenient to use and offering a really new feature for consumers. They turn the case sideways to the right, the mirror position which contains the puff, then open the top section which holds the powder to apply their make-up. A simple and natural motion.
In addition, this side and vertical designed compact brings convenience to the consumer because it enables to place the puff in the lower section and have a shade evident lense on top of the upper one: the consumers can see the shade of the bulk at a glance.
2) Industrial performance made possible by the global operations of Rexam sites
Global is the word, as tight project coordination between Rexam sites was required to produce this new compact case. Sites providing worldwide operations effectively create the specific fire-power of Rexam:
- The development of this complex case was made in Rexam’s US site specialised in compacts in collaboration with Maybelline, in 5 parts and involved a number of operations (2 screen print runs on the lid, 2 welding operations on the upper and lower sections, positioning of the mirror and assembly of all the components).
- Rexam’s ability to adapt its industrial facility to meet demand across the world.
Also specific to Rexam is the brand’s harnessing of injection and assembly skills for optimal end-user comfort:
- The quality of injection of pearl material, with optimized flow lines by virtue of Rexam’s specific know-how in the design of moulds and parts, produces an elegant and modern case.
- The precision of the Maybelline designed product’s functional development, through the perfect fitting and assembly of all components makes this a very user-friendly case for consumers:
- A distinct click of the lock when opening and closing the case clearly tells the consumer that her case is open or firmly closed.
- Last but not least, an easy grip of the case when opening makes this case easier to use.
