Rexroth provides automation components for packaging systems

The latest version of Rexroth’s IndraMotion for Packaging gives you even more flexibility during product and size changeover. The new FlexProfile function simplifies engineering development of motion sequences in highly versatile packaging machines. Product or size changeover can be performed at the push of a button. Other new features include automatic program code generation and enhanced safety functions. With Rexroth’s FlexProfile, you have even greater flexibility to deploy single-axis or synchronized motion solutions with minimal software effort. A library containing more than 30 motion rules or a conventional ECAM table can be used to define the individual motion sequence for each axis. Every motion segment can be referenced to a leading axis position or time segment. With FlexProfile, a relationship can be established between motion segments on multiple axes to ensure that the dependencies which have been previously defined are retained when parameters are changed. As a result, no software or programming effort is needed for product or size changeover.

Expanding on the product range of VarioFlow S chain conveyor system, Rexroth offers complete solutions for wedge conveyors from the modular systems set. Between two parallel conveyor sections, flexible cleat chains clamp material to be conveyed and secure the vertical transport from one level to the next. The wedge conveyor is also suitable for product cleaning processes involving a 180 degree rotation. Rexroth uses a special construction material for the flexible cleat chains, which is approved by the FDA and permits direct contact with food products.

The VarioFlow S chain conveyor system from Rexroth enables users to implement transport tasks quickly and easily with a minimum of construction effort. With versions in aluminum and stainless steel, they comply with the strict hygiene regulations for the food processing, cosmetic and packaging industries.

Furthermore the producer has expanded its offering of the CL03 (Clean Line) pneumatic valve terminal system to include a version with an integrated field bus. The new CL03 version supports the common Rexroth field bus protocols Profibus, DeviceNet and CANopen, as well as Rexroth’s Drive & Diagnostic Link (DDL). The CL03 Series is used particularly in areas where direct contact with food is possible, as well as areas where high-pressure, high-temperature cleaning of machines is required. The special materials and construction of the CL03 were tested for use with chemicals and allow for easy cleaning. The hygienic design of the plastic cover, without any seams or gaps, prevents dirt accumulation.
