API to exhibit at Luxe Pack

API has, since its formation, been at the leading edge in developing laminate and foil products that fulfil the key needs of the luxury packaging industry.  This year is no different and we are proud to announce three important new products in our portfolio.

PortaBioTM, the first biopolymer laminate.

With the concern for the environment, the demand for biodegradable products is increasing.  API Laminates announced earlier this year an exclusive, worldwide, licensing agreement with M&S for the manufacture of PortaBioTM.  An environmentally responsible laminate, PortaBioTM is the first fully bio-degradable film laminated board made entirely from sustainable resources.

TO, the overprintable cold foil.

API Foils was one of the first to introduce cold foil, the method of applying foil through a curable UV adhesive, applied in-line as part of the printing process.  The ability to foil in-line has reduced costs, improved productivity and allowed the visual impact of foil to become affordable across a variety of applications.

TD is API Foil’s benchmark cold foil product and now we are pleased to introduce TO, our general purpose overprintable version.  TO allows complex visual affects by printing directly on to the foil while achieving the required ink adhesion to pass the standard tape test.

Large format holographic patterns.

Luxury brands have high quality standards and the inherent shim and repeat lines of traditional holographic foils have limited their use.  API Holographics has been working on increasing the width of their holographic formats, minimising the number of lines.  Today we are able to announce the launch of our large format seamless cylindrical shim, soon to be available in a range of holographic designs enabling truly shim free production for the first time.

Together with the launch of these groundbreaking products, API will also exhibit our extensive range of foil colours and holographic patterns.  While illustrating how API can deliver stunning visual effects, our people will be on-hand to provide expert advice on creative ideas, technical matters and manufacturing solutions.
