Hurtz has continued to extend its range of professional sections for silk screen printing by adding three new aluminium slope sections. The European market leader for precision silk screen printing frames and the only German manufacturer of slope sections launched its (new) products at the FESPA in Berlin, which ran from 5th to 9th June.

The smallest new slope section measuring 28/22 x 25 mm was developed to provide a lightweight alternative to cast frames. The second of the new slope sections – dimensions 45/35 mm with a height 25.4 mm (1 inch) – was developed for use (but no exclusively) in the electronics industry. Although Hurtz already does a line of inched sections, it had yet to offer slope variants. The latest product is the slope section 80/70 mm, with a height of 40 mm. It was developed to supplement large-format prints (e.g. glass printing). It means that Hurtz now offers a complete range of products for every silk screen printing need, and also caters for virtually all machine types.

The slope sections are especially robust, have a broad adhering side and easily withstand higher fabric tensions, such as, for example, as encountered on modern computer-to-screen systems (CTS), coating machines and direct projection. An important condition for good printing results!

A significant advantage of the sloped interior edge lies in the quick and easy cleaning of the frame. This virtually eradicates the problem of cleaner entering the washing machine. Despite their stability the frames with slope sections are easy to use as the development remit stressed the need for the lowest possible weight at the highest possible strength.

The new developments mean that Hurtz now boasts a total of 16 different slope sections. The extensive range now comprises section widths spanning 28 to 160 mm. Even not standard frame sizes of, for example, b4 x 8 metres present no problems to the Nettetal-based specialists.

Hurtz has been manufacturing precision frames from aluminium, stainless steel and steel that also meet the highest quality requirements for more than 40 years. Hurtz not only provides products but also offers a comprehensive range of services. For instance, the company can help customers by precisely determining before tensioning which frame is best suited for the respective printing task. It involves calculating how a frame deforms, taking into account the required fabric tensioning, frame size and section type used in the printing process.
