Mary Kay will launch its first premium, luxury fragrance for women, Affection™ Eau de Parfum, this September. In today’s fast-paced world, women want to achieve their own special individuality in their fashion and style choices and realize they can enhance that personal expression with the right fragrance. Scents are the new wardrobe staple that’s here to stay. A woman wants a scent that captures her individual essence – a signature scent to match her signature style. Mary Kay’s newest fragrance, Affection™ Eau de Parfum, is an expressive and unique signature scent that is contemporary.

Packaged in a sophisticated, exclusive-design glass bottle and romantic floral-pattern box, Affection™ Eau de Parfum will be the lead luxury signature scent of Mary Kay’s women’s fragrance line.

“We anticipate Affection™ will be the biggest fragrance launch in Mary Kay’s history and it’s the next step in expanding our product offering to today’s modern woman,” said Yvette Franco, Mary Kay vice president, brand development. “Affection™ is a truly luxurious, expressive and long-wearing scent, with a depth that evolves from the first spray through the duration of the wear.”

Affection™ Eau de Parfum by Mary Kay is a modern oriental chypre that combines luxurious fragrance notes and exotic ingredients for a delightful, surprising and totally one-of-a-kind scent:
. Amber woods: a soft, light wood providing a rich, enveloping warmth reminiscent of a classic summer evening
. White peony: a distinctly sweet and light white floral note that evokes thoughts of elegance and modernity
. Chinese osmanthus: an apricot-floral layer at the heart of the Affection™ scent , adding richness and spice and personifying boldness and femininity
. Pink peppercorn: a sparkling ingredient highlighting individuality and radiance that adds bright energy to the top of the perfume

“Fragrance is an emotional purchase, and women want an upscale fragrance that combines complex notes to develop a signature scent that is luxurious and captivating,” said Claude Dir, vice president and executive perfumer at Quest International. Quest International worked directly with Mary Kay’s own fragrance experts to develop Affection™ scent after years of research on olfactory responses to fragrance notes. “The trend of mass-appeal scents with basic fragrance notes is going away. Instead, signature scents are the latest trend because a woman wants her perfume to help define who she is. She wants you to smell a scent and immediately think of her. A woman’s fragrance choice is an extension of her spirit,” added Dir.
