Russian interest in German wine

During 20-22 April, IFWexpo Heidelberg was proud to welcome the
high-ranking delegation from South-Russian Krasnodar to the
economic region of Rhine-Neckar. Vice-Gouverneur Mr. Nikolay
Djachenko, responsible for Agriculture and Food Industries, as well
as the Head of the Department for Horticulture and Viticulture, Mr
Gennady Oleshko visited the region.
First, a tour at the cooperative wine cultivation and processing
enterprise in the city of Wiesloch (wine region of Baden) gave an
insight into the facilities: wine reception, wine pressing, the bottling
lines and the wine cellars. Next, a tour to the municipal wine yards
opened up the possibility to enjoy the magnificent landscape of
Baden.
The South Russian region of Krasnodar yields 70% of the total wine
grape production in Russia and is a leader in the agricultural and
food processing industry of Russia.
IFWexpo Heidelberg organises in cooperation with the partner in
Krasnodar the annual agricultural trade show YugAgro in November
since 10 years already, and has now prepared and guided the
delegation visit in Germany.
The following day, during a site tour at the agricultural machinery
manufacturer John Deere in Mannheim the guests informed
themselves about the production of tractors in the medium
horsepower class - „Made in Germany“. The concepts and ideas of
John Deere were impressing the guests.
After the factory tour, one more event met the interest of the
representatives of South Russia: the Mannheim show for
„Renewable Energies“, displaying pellet ovens, solar technologies,
and biomass technologies, and representing a complete spectre of
products connected with this future topic.
