Dusseldorf makes PR appointment
Messe Düsseldorf, the organisation behind the drupa trade show, the world’s renown exhibition for print media, publishing & converting, has appointed Duomedia Public Relations for the worldwide support of its media partners. Throughout the countdown and during drupa, May 29 – June 11, 2008 in Düsseldorf (Germany), the Belgium-based agency will support these key publications on a worldwide scale.
“Duomedia is ideally placed to support Messe Düsseldorf as expert international PR agency in the graphic arts industry since 1999, with a management team having participated in several drupa’s since the start of their career and thus appreciating the importance of the event for the entire industry”, explains Monika Kissing, PR Manager drupa at Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. “Their expertise in the market and multilingual team in Belgium with a network of local consultants and partners, knowing the publications and local cultures, strengthened our choice.”
Since its first successful premiere in 1951 drupa has developed into the number 1 in the print, paper and media industry. Every four years, just as the Olympics, hundreds of thousands of experts come to Düsseldorf for drupa from all over the world. It’s a unique opportunity to view the latest technologies in media production and processing live in action. Publications worldwide follow drupa as an indicator of the latest trends in the industry, including new initiatives such as the drupa innovation parc and other happenings around the exhibition halls. drupa 2008 looks very promising with a record of over 1.800 exhibitors covering 19 halls or 170.000m2 net exhibition space.
In order to inform the industry about drupa on a regular base Messe Düsseldorf has established agreements for media partnerships with key magazines worldwide. The media partners enjoy a privileged position in relation to drupa and can use this as a reference in their country. Messe Düsseldorf provides them with press and background information, articles and interviews. Duomedia’s role is to support the journalists by providing customized press materials and interesting perspectives, as well as creating an easier and direct access to all information and the relevant people at Messe Düsseldorf.
