Creon to host PP event
CREON is to hold the IV Moscow International Conference "Polypropylene 2007", which will be held on 20 of March 2007 at Baltchug Kempinski Hotel, Moscow.
Polypropylene is sure to be one of the main large capacity plastics polymers, combining the number of precious features with the relatively low price. All this properties made the polypropylene one of the basic materials for car interior components production, production of wisps, film materials, water-pipes, nonwoven fabrics and soft packaging containers (big bags).
For the pat few years the slight growth of polypropylene output (the growth of output from 2001 is equal to 16,3%) was followed by substantial growth of polypropylene consumption. In 2005 the consumption leveled up to 405,9 thousand tons, the growth in comparison with 2001 indexes amounted to 78,5%. But at that, the existing facilities exhausted all their capacities abilities. The facilities capacity index in 2004 amounted to 97,9%, in 2005 amounted to 100%. Nevertheless, we can cherish hopes for the facts that new polypropylene producing plant was commissioned in the end of 2006 in Tatarstan and a number of chemical holdings have scheduled commissioning of the new polypropylene plants in the nearest future.
In spite of the increase of existing enterprises loading and new enterprise commissioning, the polypropylene demand exceeds the supply at Russian market. This can be confirmed by export decay and import increase for this production. For the period since 2001 till 2005 the propylene import 5,9 times increased, at the same time polypropylene export halved. The narrow assortment of domestically produced polypropylene grades is compensated by the import of grades for special goods production.
Besides the problem of narrow assortment of domestically produced polypropylene, in the second half of 2006 the rapid growth of Russian polypropylene price and the product deficit were observed at the market. The abovementioned factors negatively affect the benefit and productive indexes of polypropylene processors.
Realizing the important role of polypropylene in the total volume of domestic polymer market, CREON annually organizes the conferences devoted to this product. Such events create the place for communication of the leading market participants, exchange of views and actual problems solving.
In the last year more than 130 representatives of Russian and foreign companies took part in “Polypropylene 2007″ conference. Among them there are: Russian producers, the major importers, traders and consumers of polypropylene. It is please to mention that new companies and new persons join our events every year.
