New platforms for Powtech
New online platforms under the name of ask.POWTECH and ask.TechnoPharm are being launched at the Nürnberg venue for the exhibition duo on processing and process technologies. They offer many additional services for both visitors and exhibitors. In this interview, Senior Project Consultant Claudia Schreglmann explains what is behind the new platforms and other new features of the two exhibitions.
Ms Schreglmann, NürnbergMesse provides a distinctly expanded spectrum of services for exhibitors, visitors and journalists for POWTECH and TechnoPharm. What do these new services offer?
Our new online service is a logical improvement of our Internet support for exhibitors and visitors. Internet research is by far the most frequently chosen method of preparing for exhibition visits. The online platforms of the Nürnberg exhibitions already register some nine million hits a year. Especially foreign visitors use this method of preparing for an exhibition. These figures will continue to rise appreciably in the coming years.
How does NürnbergMesse take up this trend and implement it in individual services?
Let’s start with the exhibitors. The new Internet service at
www.powtech.de and
www.technopharm.de gives them an additional marketing instrument to increase the success of an exhibition all year round: Researching, arranging appointments and downloading information can all be handled direct at ask.POWTECH and ask.TechnoPharm – even after the exhibition itself has closed its doors. This means contacts within the industry community can be established in no time at all and at any time. The services are constantly updated, so they also remain a valuable industry directory for users in the period between the exhibitions. The number of well-informed and well-prepared visitors naturally increases, which results in better quality and more efficient customer contacts at the exhibition as well. A cooperation with m&a-Verlag links the exhibitors’ press releases direct to the exhibition portal at
www.expodatabase.de. This and other measures make the exhibitors’ press releases easier to find and improve the chances of success.
Talking about users – what additional services do you offer visitors at the two exhibitions?
Besides services for preparing for the exhibition, our new databases ask.POWTECH and ask.TechnoPharm offer potential visitors the latest industry information, contact opportunities, appointment arrangements and information services – around the clock. For the first time, POWTECH/TechnoPharm visitors can also load important exhibition information such as lists of exhibitors, congress presentations, site plans and entrance prices via online access into their WAP-capable mobile phone or PDA. These can be found at the respective Internet addresses mobile.powtech.de and mobile.technopharm.de. This service is particularly suitable for preparing for the exhibition at short notice and apart from the most important information about the event also provides access to the relevant list of exhibitors, floor plans and routes to the exhibition site. Similar to using a shopping basket, the user selects certain exhibitors or programme items and saves these as favourites for preferential and fast access.
Overall, we have appreciably expanded our Internet services and they are faster to call up – a benefit for exhibitors, visitors and colleagues from the various publications.
What other new trumps have POWTECH and TechnoPharm up their sleeves in addition to the services mentioned?
As a new feature at POWTECH/TechnoPharm 2007, the editorial staff of the trade journals PROCESS, PharmaTEC and Schüttgut will present the “PROCESS & Bulk Solids Innovation Award at POWTECH and TechnoPharm” for the most innovative new products presented by the exhibitors in Nürnberg. The award is presented for new developments and significant improvements in the categories of basic processing technologies, plant engineering and processing components, material analysis and characterization, and pharmaceutical technology. The competition is open until Friday, 23 February 2007. The presentation of the awards takes place at POWTECH/TechnoPharm on the first evening. Another new feature this year is the competition for early birds sponsored by Geroldinger under the motto of “The early bird catches the worm” – more about this on our Web site at
www.powtech.de, which also offers interested visitors access to the new online databases at the press of a button.
