Chocolate packaging at Pro Sweets
The second ProSweets Cologne will be held in Cologne from 29th January to 1st February 2007. It will present the entire range of suppliers required for the production, processing and packaging of confectionery. Following a successful premiere in 2006, the event will be even bigger in 2007, with a substantial increase in the number of exhibitors. More than 260 suppliers (2006: 229 exhibiting companies) from 26 countries will display their range of products for ingredients (raw and other ingredients), confectionery packaging and packaging technology, machines and equipment for the confectionery industry, and secondary segments such as food safety and quality management. At ProSweets Cologne and the leading trade fair ISM, Koelnmesse presents the confectionery industry’s entire value chain at one trade fair location, starting with raw ingredients, technology and packaging and ending with the product ready for retail sale. The conceptual sponsors of ProSweets are the Association of the German Confectionery Industry (BDSI), Sweets Global Network (SG), the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and the Central College of the German Confectionery Industry (ZDS).
“ProSweets Cologne is perfectly tailored to the specific needs of the confectionery industry,” says Sabine Loos, Vice President Technology & Environment at Koelnmesse GmbH. “The event has therefore been a market success and will be able to grow considerably in 2007. The parallel scheduling with ISM is certainly one of the factors for the event’s success.
To build on this strong foundation, we have enhanced the scheduling for the next ProSweets Cologne so that the fair will overlap with ISM by three days. ProSweets’ four-day duration will remain unchanged.”
More than 260 suppliers from 26 countries are expected to attend the event, at which they will occupy a gross exhibition space of about 14,000 m².
Compared to the premiere event, the number of exhibitors will grow by almost 15 per cent. More than 130 of the suppliers (approx. 55 per cent) come from outside Germany. The largest number of participants come from the Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, and the UK.
International market leaders such as Symrise GmbH & Co. KG, Franz Haas, Bradman Lake GmbH and MM Packaging GmbH are represented in the four main product segments of ingredients, process technology, packaging technology and packaging. First-time exhibitors include the companies Winkler und Dünnebier WDS, Gerhard Schubert GmbH, and Alcan Packaging Snacks Europe.
ProSweets Cologne will once again occupy Hall 10.1, adjacent to ISM. The visitors will access the hall of ProSweets Cologne via a separate entrance, with ISM visitors and exhibitors enjoying free admission. In addition, they will be able to access ProSweets Cologne directly from the ISM trade fair halls. All pre-registered visitors to ProSweets Cologne are entitled to visit the fair free of charge.
The exhibitors’ presentations at ProSweets Cologne will be accompanied by an extensive supporting programme that offers additional information and, above all, ideas and solutions. The coming event will, for example, feature forums that explore issues and aspects of particular importance to the sector. In addition, the special show titled “Design workshop” will once again be part of the supporting programme.
