Serac, present in the Health and Beauty sector for over 10 years, introduces « Helios » the new, fully programmable filling machine at the Packaging Trade-Fair.

Helios: from mechanical to electronic
Designed to offer maximum adaptability, the Helios linear, volumetric filling machine offers a fully automated filling system. The mechanical drive system is replaced by an intelligent and programmable « Brushless » motor drive system.
The actuators and filling nozzles at the machine’s core are the main elements concerned by this development.
Disassociation of the actuator product suction and delivery times results in a shorter cycle time. The possibility to modify the filling nozzle stroke represents a considerable gain in time and efficiency.

Combined adjustment of these two parameters is essential.  The user may modify and optimise filling speeds depending on the product type (liquid, foamy, viscous) and bottle shape and size. The machine’s capacity to memorise these parameters enables the user to reload identical parameters after the numerous production changes often encountered in the Health and Beauty sector.

On an economic level, cycle time improvement requires either reduction of the number of nozzles for a given work-rate or increasing the work-rate for a fixed number of nozzles.

The machine cleaning aspect has also been taken into consideration and washing in background mode or in-place are both possible. This operation is facilitated by the use of “top-dead-point” actuators which enables complete actuator draining and prevents retention or stagnation zones of filled products.
