Pro Sweets to address packaging
A large number of companies (around 230) will be exhibiting at the second ProSweets Cologne from 29th January to 1st February 2007. Launched in 2006, the international supplier fair for the confectionery industry will once again be held in Hall 10.1 of the Cologne exhibition centre, adjacent to the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM). The two fairs will overlap by three days. ProSweets Cologne will once again have a separate entrance, and its even clearer segmentation will make it easier for the visitors to collect information and place orders. The fair will be divided into four areas: ingredients, process technology, packaging technology and packaging. It will be accompanied by a trade-specific supporting programme of events that provide exactly the information the visitors are looking for. ProSweets Cologne is organised by Koelnmesse, and its conceptual sponsors are the Association of the German Confectionery Industry (BDSI), Sweets Global Network (SG), the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and the Central College of the German Confectionery Industry (ZDS).These four conceptual sponsors will also be staging high-profile presentations
during the fair.
The SG will once again address the issue of packaging in its presentations on
the first day of ProSweets Cologne, Monday, 29th January 2007. The main
topics will be:
1. The results of an exclusive study of chocolate packaging, conducted by
SG and ProCarton
2. Shelf-ready packaging: What does the trade want?
3. Case studies of added value through packaging
The ZDS will be staging a Confectionery Technology Forum during ProSweets
Cologne. Here, visitors can find out from experts about the latest trends and
developments in production technology for semi-finished products and
confectionery items. This practice-oriented event will focus on tempering,
ventilation and moulding technology. Representatives of renowned companies
such as Haas-Mondomix B.V. and Sollich KG will present their latest
developments, and information will be provided on the particular characteristics
of a number of confectionery specialities from central and eastern Europe. The
forum is aimed primarily at product developers, production experts and quality
management specialists. The presentations will be followed by a discussion in
which members of the audience can also take part.
As in 2006, the Berlin-based company Berndt & Partner will once again be
occupying a special show area at ProSweets Cologne. Here, company
representatives will offer free advice to trade fair participants and outline
possible packaging solutions, concentrating on the look, feel and smell of the
packaging. A selection of the best suggested solutions will be presented in the
seminar area.
At ProSweets Cologne and the leading trade fair ISM, Koelnmesse presents the
confectionery industry’s entire value chain at one trade fair location, starting
with raw ingredients, technology and packaging and ending with the product
ready for retail sale.
