SABIC to expand to Hungary
SABIC Europe is to further expand its European sales office network with the establishment in May 2006 of a sales office in Budapest, Hungary. SABIC Hungary is expected to become fully operational as of January 1st 2007.Strengthening relationships
“The opening of SABIC Hungary is a major milestone in SABIC’s long-term growth strategy for Central and Eastern Europe, allowing us to position SABIC more strongly in the local market and build more direct relationships with customers in the region,” explains Koos van Haasteren, Managing Director SABIC Europe Polymers.
Improved service
“The expansion of our sales office network into Hungary is an integral part of the strengthening of SABIC Europe’s polymer sales organization,” adds Hubert Guth, Director Sales Offices SABIC Europe. “It reflects our increase in focus on serving customers and improving customer satisfaction, by reinforcing our local presence and improving our sales service to the South- East European market”.
Focal point
Given that Central Europe consists of a number of relatively small markets, it is likely that SABIC Hungary will also take on the role of a focal point for the entire region in the medium term. This means that apart from the Hungarian market, other areas might be added to SABIC Hungary’s business responsibilities in the near future. ‘In this way we would combine the benefit of having local presence with short and streamlined communication lines towards the European head office in Sittard,’ continues Hubert Guth.
