Latvians against waste
The Latvian waste disposal firm L&T Hoetika has invested €2 million in the installation of a new sorting line that ought to reduce waste quantity. The capacity of the new sorting line is at least 40,000 tonnes per year. It will sort out metals, paper, card, PET bottles and other plastics.
L&T Hoetika’s goal is not just to solve the problem of waste disposal, but to contribute to recycling. According to EU directives, Latvia must increase its reuse of packaging materials to 50-65%.
